Hayes Convalescent Hospital

This was our first visit to Hayes Convalescent Hospital, which is a skilled nursing facility. We visited several patients in their rooms, and then spent time in the community room. In the community room, Jacee demonstrated several of her commands, and played catch with a ball.

One patient in the community room started talking to Jacee. As the patient talked, Jacee looked at her like she understood every word, and the conversation continued for about 30 minutes. The patient was smiling and looked extremely happy.

San Francisco Adult Day Services

After a brief summer vacation, Jacee is back to work.

Today we returned to San Francisco Adult Day Services in the South-Western corner of the city. This is a Senior drop-in day facility operated by the Catholic Charities. Nearly all of the seniors there loved dogs and reached out to pet Jacee. Most of the Therapy Dogs sent by SPCA to this facility are small, and they were thrilled to have a larger dog that they could reach down and pet while seated.
